The Reason

'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is You

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Feelings

Breaking up with a partner can sometimes be traumatic. Even though you saw it coming or made it happen yourself, you may not be ready for the impact of the break-up. Suddenly you are alone and no longer part of a couple. It feels like a giant missile burst up on your life crushing your dreams and aspirations, leaving your daily existence a strange and difficult place to be.

The feelings you are assailed with are many. It may be anger, hurt, insecurity, sadness, depression, self-revulsion and rage. ‘I hate my ex’ is a common statement from anyone who has just experienced a break-up. Hatred for the partner and self-loathing are the two common emotions experienced by a person who has broken up with his partner.

The feelings after a break-up may be overwhelming. The difficult part is that there are no ground rules for recovering, healing and moving on. From the rubble, you have to pick up the pieces and move on. Firstly you have to deal with anger. It is good to acknowledge the feelings of anger at first but it is best not to act on them. So you must release all that pent up rage somehow, like taking kickboxing classes or writing hate mail to your ex, which you never send. The good thing is that, like all negative emotions that are expressed, these emotions will also fade away. Meanwhile you have to find your own stress busters.

Feelings of guilt are also common. You may wonder what exactly that you did which caused her to break up with you. There is a lot of soul searching and self-criticism involved here to blame oneself for the break-up. The events of your past keep being replayed in your mind. But here you must give yourself a break and think positively about yourself. You must seek the company of friends and family to feel good about yourself. Instead of ruing over what went wrong and what you should have done differently, you must give yourself positive points for getting out of a doomed relationship.

The urban dictionary – Heartless Bitch

i have found this definition exactley on the Urban Dicionary! i found it pretty funny actually hehe

A Heartless Bitch:
noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection

A Person who is neither kind nor cares about others' feelings; The kind of girl who would rip your still beating heart from your chest cavity, impale it with forks and meat tenderizers, and then proceed to stomp on it repeatidly with a golf cleat...

I.E: That girl I went out with for 3 years was a HEARTLESS BITCH when she broke up with me for that other geeky monkey face looking guy!

Do you suffer from a low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a very common problem. The truth is, each one of us is unique, special, beautiful and very talented, but it seems that no one ever tells us this! As a result, we forget it. It’s sometimes easy and is a very usual scenario, to concentrate only on our mistakes, failures and weaknesses. Especially if it has been emphasized by your bitchy partner who doesn’t really care! Or haven’t even realized how amazing you are.

Low self-esteem could be really dangerous or even fatal, it can lead us to accept bad treatment from others, use drugs or alcohol or make other damaging decisions for ourselves, it could actually lead you to “suicide” to get out of your misery. We may feel we don’t even know who we are or where our life is going anymore.

When you improve your self-esteem, many new opportunities will open up for you. You should try something new and exciting, be more confident, meet new people, or work on other problems that were left over from your previous relationship, such as the financial crisis you are going thru. Better self-esteem is the key to a more satisfying life by which you will be able to solve all your current issues and will help avoiding them in the future relationships or even your day to day life.

The following activities sometimes help people feel better about themselves. See if any of them sound interesting to you. If so, why not try them…they are all about you!

- volunteer helping others
- learn a new skill
- improve an existing skill
- do something to improve your appearance
- make your home more comfortable or more "you"
- reduce your stress
- be kind to yourself; do something nice just for you
- use positive self-talk; stop negative thoughts
- avoid negative people
- seek out people who like you and respect you
- avoid activities where you are sure to fail
- find activities you are likely to succeed at
- make a list of things you really like about yourself
- make a list of your accomplishments

More lasting improvements in how you feel about yourself can come when you explore with yourself how the past experiences you had, may have brought you to feel the way you do about yourself now. It will take time and effort to regain trust in you, but it’s worth it.

Also, having a clear idea of what you want in or from your life, and who you really are can make you feel stronger and confident. What is your purpose in life? During this process you may want to write a "Personal Mission Statement" for yourself.

Congratulations on taking the first steps to feeling better about yourself. Be patient and optimistic. You are great and deserve to feel better!

GET A PAIR OF BALLS!

Your sweetheart ended it? That heartless bitch!

Now your future is dark. You feel the need to panic and beg her back. You'll do anything to make things right.

But no matter how you try, you can't get back to where you were so comfortable and safe.

There's only one thing left for you to do: Forget her. I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but over time, you'll forget that girl and pick up the pieces of your heart -- and manhood -- in no time.

Here is what you should do:
1- Take her off
Don't idolize her and build her up into something great. She is nothing of the sort. So don't stare at pictures of her. Don't jump to answer her e-mail or phone calls. And definitely don't go out of your way for her. She no longer deserves a special treatment.

2- Get closure
It's very important and essential to definitively end any hopes of reconciliation between the two of you. And if you can't get that into your head, she owes you the courtesy of it. Therapists call it "closure." And you can begin to heal.

3- Don't contact her
After the relationship reaches finality, you have to break off contact or you will go mad. Don't beg or cry. Don't drunk-dial. Don't write her e-mail. Don't send packages or gifts. Get the picture? She will find you if she wants to. And even if you can talk your way back into her arms, it's only a temporary thing. She already knows that you want her back, and she doesn't care.

4- Throw away anything that reminds you of her
You don't have to burn it all, but definitely get pictures, gifts, clothing, letters, and e-mail out of your living area, or at least out of your sight. If that means giving away half of your wardrobe to get rid of her memory, this can save your sanity.

5- Hang out with your friends
They will give you a reality check on how your ex wasn't all that to begin with, and that there are more fish in the sea. We've all been screwed by a woman before and most of us will likely get screwed again.

6- Exercise your new freedom
Freedom is always intoxicating. There's a world of activities you can take in which you were never able to enjoy because your "other half" didn't approve. So travel. Build a model ship. Go hiking. Play video games. Watch TV all weekend. Do anything you want. Why not start any martial art? Ideally, you want to find an activity that allows you to release your anger and take all the stress away.

7- Remember the bad times
If you feel you miss her, then think of all the times she was a bitch to you. That should do it. Remember the time she made you wait by the dressing room as she endlessly tried on clothing? The times she accused you of cheating on her? The times she through tantrums and screams like a crazy mother fucker!!! Or the time she reminded you not too drink too much in front of her parents when you actually weren’t? or when she never came to support you whenever you had a game. Nobody wants that back.

8- Hook up with other girls
Nothing reminds you that you are a man quite like having a new woman in your bed. Call it a rebound if you wish. Plenty of heartbroken guys go this route and for a very good reason -- it makes you feel way better, even if it's only temporary. So go out there and feel better about yourself!

Bonus: Seduce somebody she's jealous of
Remember that friend of yours or the hot barmaid your ex scolded you for looking at? Well, now's your chance to make a move that will pay off in more ways than just sex. Just think, if your ex finds out you've been fishing in familiar waters, it will drive her to the point of hysteria. This can be quite entertaining.

Getting the woman of your past out of your present is a mental and emotional challenge of the first order. However it has to happen or you ll live miserable ever after

Cow Logic!

SOCIALISM:
You have 2 cows and you give one to your neighbour.

COMMUNISM:
You have 2 cows; the Government takes both and gives you some milk.

NAZISM:
You have 2 cows. The Government takes both and shoots you.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows. You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of
four cows. Later, you hire a consultant to analyze why the cow dropped
dead.

A FRENCH CORPORATION:
You have two cows. You go on strike because you want three cows.

A RUSSIAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five cows. You count them again and
learn you have 42 cows. You count them again and learn you have 2 cows. You
stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.

A BRITISH CORPORATION:
You have two cows. Both are mad.

LEBANON SYSTEM:
You have two cows. One is owned by Syria and the other is controlled by the
government.

EGYPT SYSTEM:
You have two cows. Both vote for Mubarak.

DUBAI SYSTEM:
You have two cows. You create a website for them and advertise
them in all magazines. You create a " Cow City " or " Milk Village " for
them. You sell off their milk before the cows have even been milked to both
legit and shady investors who hope to resell the non-existent milk for a
100% profit in two years time. You bring Tiger Woods to milk the cow first
to attract media attention.

SHARJAH SYSTEM:
You have two cows. You sell them to an investor in Dubai. The cows get
stuck in traffic between Sharjah to Dubai and die. You have zero cows now.

Finally!

So finally, my life is not flat boring as it used to be for the last 6 month. I went from a moocher to a man power, from a lazy ass to a very active person in our society like I always used to be, from unemployed to finallyyyy employed.

It actually does feel good to go to bed early at night, and wake up early in the morning. Washing, ironing and shaving to look presentable. Get rid of the bad words vocab and try to be decant once again…man this is a tough one.

It was such a tough experience to spend this much time at home doing nothing but looking for a job and going for interviews, and what I came to realize was that I’m not really good with rejection, we are not really good friends. But in a place like Dubai, where the demand is way higher than the supply, it’s really hard to find a job, a good job that you would really like to work in and also have it available with the salary you are looking for.

Thanks to my roommate Bevan I was able to find this one, the perfect combination of the good company, the good position and the perfect career for me.

Istithmar which is part of Dubai world (Dubai government), is “hopefully” going to be my new home for the next 3 years as a sales project coordinator.

The atmosphere is very fancy and very professional, I love all my colleges and for sure the room to grow in such open-minded and recognizing community is very high. So all I need to do now is give 110% to get where I wanna be.

Thank you for all the true friends who stood by me in such hard time…you know yourselves no need to name you :o)

The Egyptian Revolution of 1952...A day to remember

On Wednesday morning, 23 July 1952, a military coup occurred in Egypt, carried out by The "Free Officers" and led by General Muhammad Naguib, and that the armed forces were taking up posts in some of the corners and streets in Cairo.

At 7:30 a.m., they heard a broadcast station issue the first communiqué of the revolution in the name of Gen. Muhammad Naguib to the Egyptian people that stated the justification for the revolution or the Blessed Movement. The voice everyone heard reading the message belonged to Free Officer and future president of Egypt, Anwar Sadat:

Egypt has passed through a critical period in her recent history characterized by bribery, mischief, and the absence of governmental stability. All of these were factors that had a large influence on the army. Those who accepted bribes and were thus influenced caused our defeat in the Palestine War 1948. As for the period following the war, the mischief-making elements have been assisting one another, and traitors have been commanding the army. They appointed a commander who is either ignorant or corrupt. Egypt has reached the point, therefore, of having no army to defend it. Accordingly, we have undertaken to clean ourselves up and have appointed to command us men from within the army whom we trust in their ability, their character, and their patriotism. It is certain that all Egypt will meet this news with enthusiasm and will welcome it. As for those whose arrest we saw fit from among men formerly associated with the army, we will not deal harshly with them, but will release them at the appropriate time. I assure the Egyptian people that the entire army today has become capable of operating in the national interest and under the rule of the constitution apart from any interests of its own. I take this opportunity to request that the people never permit any traitors to take refuge in deeds of destruction or violence because these are not in the interest of Egypt. Should anyone behave in such ways, he will be dealt with forcefully in a manner such as has not been seen before and his deeds will meet immediately the reward for treason. The army will take charge with the assistance of the police. I assure our foreign brothers that their interests, their personal safety "their souls", and their property are safe, and that the army considers itself responsible for them. May God grant us success "God is the guardian of success”.

King Farouk sought the intervention of the United States, but to no avail. By the 25th, the army had occupied Alexandria, where the king was in residence at the Montaza Palace. Now plainly terrified, Farouk abandoned Muntazah, and moved to Ras Al-Teen Palace on the waterfront. Naguib ordered the captain of Farouk's yacht, "al-Mahrusa," not to sail without orders from the army. Debate broke between the Free Officers concerning the fate of the deposed king. While some (including Gen. Naguib and Nasser) viewed the best solution as to send him to exile, others argued the urge to trial him and even execute him for the "crimes he committed to the Egyptian people".

Finally, the order for Farouk to abdicate in favour of his son, Crown Prince Ahmed Fouad, and a Regency Council is appointed and depart into exile finally came on Saturday, July 26, 1952 and at 6 o'clock that evening, the king set sail for Italy.

3 tips that will define you

1) CHOOSE GOOD COMPANIONS
Two are better than one, and you will find it both protection and incentive if you can secure a faithful friend; and in some respects better than two are the many; therefore you cannot do more wisely than seek out a wider companionship. Whilst instructed by the information of some, and strengthened by the firmer faith or larger experience of others, there are important themes on which you will learn to think with precision.

2) STOP PROCRASTINATING
Examine our lives closely, and we shall find that we constantly delude ourselves with the idea that we would accomplish certain things if we had time, when, in truth, we have no real desire for those things. One person will say that reading is out of the question; another will bewail the impossibility of maintaining social relations; a third will avow that charitable or benevolent enterprises would delight her if she might engage in them and all the time these good people are comforting themselves with a fallacy. The things for which they do find time are the things they prefer.

The things which are crowded out are the things they would not choose if life lay unemployed before them. Scores of wives and mothers are busied constantly with their family cares, but not one in every score loves music enough to steal time for practice. Hundreds of young men are forced by stress of circumstances to work hard for daily subsistence, but only one in a thousand, perhaps, conquers the difficulty of his position, and makes a name for himself. This one might not have found his way easier or its upward steps less tiresome, but he wanted to succeed, and so wanting, let nothing needful be crowded out.

3) KEEP YOUR TEMPER
You will accomplish nothing by losing it. Many date their failure in business to some hasty and ill-considered statement made during a fit of temper. When things go wrong, business is dull, and the prospect is dark ahead, it is very poor consolation to indulge in passionate and angry remarks to those around you. The frown on a person's face is a good indication of the state of the feelings within. The world judges us by our outward conduct and behavior, and ill-natured, cross grained men rarely become successful.

I personally wasn't able to contain or keep my temper in for such a long time, and for so many varies and different reasons I would just explode. Don’t do it! It will coast you a lot. Always think of the sequences, think what will happen if you will do such dumb things cause your angry, think of what could possible go worse!
Going to jail or getting your ass beaten up by someone at the bar wouldn’t be fun! Also losing a job and staying at home would be fun either.

FALLING IN LOVE

It does not depend upon how long you have known eachother or how many reasons you two should be together.

FALLING IN LOVE is about a person who makes you smile, just by thinking of them. a person who can give you a phone call or text, and stop your whole world until the next one comes. a person who doesn't give you butterflies, but someone who makes you feel as if you could EXPLODE with just a single kiss. one who not only makes your heart beat faster than you could have ever imagined, but makes it skip a beat everytime you're with them. and when they grab your hand, they touch your heart.

A person who makes you LAUGH so hard you could care less of what the rest of the world thinks. a someone who grabs you, holds you, and you know that that very moment... that very feeling... is the one feeling that makes you complete. when you're in their grasp, your heart melts, and it becomes theirs... and all you can do now... is pray for them to never let go.

BUT, FALLING IN LOVE is also about the arguments, the moments they drive you completely insane and all you can do is sit there and throw a fit. it's about the times you say the things you don't mean, but they should know that... because you'd never do anything to hurt them. and It's when you both scream eachother's heads off in public, and the moment you walk away, they run after you, and try to work things out. it's about all the tough moments when you're not sure if you're able to hold on anymore, but you don't let go.

Because, by now.. the feelings that you hold within your heart for this someone are so immense, that if you just let them go, all you'd have is emptiness... because this somebody was able to come into your life, make you smile, laugh, mad, sad, angry, feel all the emotions you can imagine, because over everything else... they actually made you love again, even if it was the one thing you feared most.

i hope u understand this one

TITANIC

At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the British ocean liner Titanic sinks into the North Atlantic Ocean about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The massive ship, which carried 2,200 passengers and crew, had struck an iceberg two and half hours before.

On April 10, the RMS Titanic, one of the largest and most luxurious ocean liners ever built, departed Southampton, England, on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. The Titanic was designed by the Irish shipbuilder William Pirrie and built in Belfast, and was thought to be the world's fastest ship. It spanned 883 feet from stern to bow, and its hull was divided into 16 compartments that were presumed to be watertight. Because four of these compartments could be flooded without causing a critical loss of buoyancy, the Titanic was considered unsinkable.

While leaving port, the ship came within a couple of feet of the steamer New York but passed safely by, causing a general sigh of relief from the passengers massed on the Titanic's decks. On its first journey across the highly competitive Atlantic ferry route, the ship carried some 2,200 passengers and crew.

After stopping at Cherbourg, France, and Queenstown, Ireland, to pick up some final passengers, the massive vessel set out at full speed for New York City. However, just before midnight on April 14, the RMS Titanic failed to divert its course from an iceberg and ruptured at least five of its hull compartments. These compartments filled with water and pulled down the bow of the ship. Because the Titanic's compartments were not capped at the top, water from the ruptured compartments filled each succeeding compartment, causing the bow to sink and the stern to be raised up to an almost vertical position above the water. Then the Titanic broke in half, and, at about 2:20 a.m. on April 15, stern and bow sank to the ocean floor.

Because of a shortage of lifeboats and the lack of satisfactory emergency procedures, more than 1,500 people went down in the sinking ship or froze to death in the icy North Atlantic waters. Most of the 700 or so survivors were women and children. A number of notable American and British citizens died in the tragedy, including the noted British journalist William Thomas Stead and heirs to the Straus, Astor, and Guggenheim fortunes.

One hour and 20 minutes after Titanic went down, the Cunard liner Carpathia arrived. The survivors in the lifeboats were brought aboard, and a handful of others were pulled out of the water. It was later discovered that the Leyland liner Californian had been less than 20 miles away at the time of the accident but had failed to hear the Titanic's distress signals because its radio operator was off duty.

Announcement of details of the tragedy led to outrage on both sides of the Atlantic. In the disaster's aftermath, the first International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea was held in 1913. Rules were adopted requiring that every ship have lifeboat space for each person on board, and that lifeboat drills be held. An International Ice Patrol was established to monitor icebergs in the North Atlantic shipping lanes. It was also required that ships maintain a 24-hour radio watch.

On September 1, 1985, a joint U.S.-French expedition located the wreck of the Titanic lying on the ocean floor at a depth of about 13,000 feet. The ship was explored by manned and unmanned submersibles, which shed new light on the details of its sinking.

The Value Of Woman In Isalm.

i just came across these words written by one of my really good muslim girl friends...
This couldn't be said more beautifully,
"Be careful if u make a woman cry, because Allah (SWT) counts her tears. A woman came out of a mans rib. This special part of him to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected and next to the heart to be loved. I love you God!"

My passions in life!

Three passions have governed my life: The longings for love, the search for knowledge, And unbearable pity for the suffering of humankind.

Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness. In the union of love I have seen In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.

With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of people. I have wished to know why the stars shine.

Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens, But always pity brought me back to earth; Cries of pain reverberated in my heart Of children in famine, of victims tortured And of old people left helpless. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, And I too suffer.

In the last few weeks that I have been unemployed and I had time to look deeper into things when I spend almost half of my day alone doing nothing but thinking, I figured out this, which I was never aware of:
The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference.
The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.
And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.

This has been my life; I found it worth living.

Jews Vs Israeli VS myself

Lately I started to question myself about the reason why we as Arabs hate Jews!i understand why they hate Israeli but not Jews!

I grew up in a community where Jews were described as the enemy…involved in so many sad and braking news, assassinations and bombings, invasions and war.

I grew up in an environment where almost everyone hates the Jews, because they invaded my country, they killed so many soldiers and citizens.

For the last 2 or 3 years of my life, and since I decided to be a global citizen with a large network of friends that includes almost everyone and anyone from any background, religion, race or color from all parts of the world I got to meet this person described as the enemy…

I was surprised, I came to realize that not all Jews are bad and not all of them are good either. I met a couple of Jewish Americans who later on became good friends of mine, we had really good times together…and guess what, they are normal people! They don't wear small tiny hats or have long ugly nose, nor cheap!

Last year I met Yale while in St Louis MO and she was the 1st Jew I ever meet in my life and interact with for a long period…she is not a monster she is a normal human being, words as politics, war, terrorism never even crossed our discussions!

The last few weeks I met Unique the Jew as they call him…the funniest guy I met in a long time, we had a blast in Miami…and again he is not a monster!!!

Are Jews in Israel different than the Jews outside Israel?? I guess so, actually I believe they are different due to my experience in my previous job.

So I'm confused! Jews…who are you people!?? Are you nice, outgoing, or cheap with long nose and wish death to all arabs?! what's the difference between Jews and Israeli?

Truth or Dare?

BBC News....

A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that:
"condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men".

The study found that more than half of the men measured had penises that were shorter than international standards for condoms. It has led to a call for condoms of mixed sizes to be made more widely available in India.

The two-year study was carried out by the Indian Council of Medical Research. Over 1,200 volunteers from the length and breadth of the country had their penises measured precisely, down to the last millimetre. The scientists even checked their sample was representative of India as a whole in terms of class, religion and urban and rural dwellers.

conclusion of all this scientific endeavour is that about 60% of Indian men have penises which are between three and five centimetres shorter than international standards used in condom manufacture.

Doctor Chander Puri, a specialist in reproductive health at the Indian Council of Medical Research, told the BBC there was an obvious need in India for custom-made condoms, as most of those currently on sale are too large.

The issue is serious because about one in every five times a condom is used in India it either falls off or tears, an extremely high failure rate. And the country already has the highest number of HIV infections of any nation.

Mr Puri said that since Indians would and should be embarrassed about going to a chemist to ask for smaller condoms there should be vending machines dispensing different sizes all around the country.

"Smaller condoms are on sale in India. But there is a lack of awareness that different sizes are available. There is anxiety talking about the issue. And normally one feels shy to go to a chemist's shop and ask for a smaller size condom." But Indian men need not be concerned about measuring up internationally according to Sunil Mehra"

i think we all know the truth now...and we know why India has a population crisis

Ramadan 2006

Again, and for the 2nd year in a row during Ramadan, I am somewhere around the world far away from my family and country. If you ever ask any Egyptian about Ramadan in Egypt he will give one standard answer "Ramadan in Egypt is the best Ramadan ever" also other Arabs from different nationalities will agree on that, even some people from different non Muslim countries will agree with that if they experienced Ramadan in several Muslim countries.

This year at least we are not only 4 Muslims in the whole county, like what last year in Miami, With Anis Lefi cooking us his delicious Tunisian food everyday.

This time I'm in an Arabic country and I have my cousin and his wife with. I can actually hear the call of prayer from near by mosques and for sure, a variety of Arabic food is available, and no hurricanes are to be expected any time soon.

But still there is a lack of outings and Ramadan tents in Dubai, it's not like in Egypt where you can find one every 10 meters. And of course there's a lack of family reunions and friends gatherings on iftar.

So far Ramadan this year has been very good, I had friends over almost everyday for iftar, I have seif and hanan with me and I have a very cool kitchen where I cook a different meal everyday. My very special friends Ana and Nadine who are fasting with me everyday as well as Holly.

So I guess so far I'm having the family and the friends plus the Egyptian food, all what's left now are the outings and Shysha which soon I will figure out.

Happy Ramadan, Ramdankoum moubarak, Saha Ramdankoum, Ramadan Karim...Pepsi Cola

Very special!

I decided to blog about what happened to me Saturday because it was something that really touched me and gave me a really weird feeling, maybe never even had it once in my life!

After meeting the guys on Friday, I decided to go and hang out with them in Cairo for few hours on Saturday.

I was really excited to go and hang around with Tom Gara, Liisi and Mai Daoud, but what was waiting for me was more than just hanging around with some good friends for few hours.

So I wake up in the morning, got ready to go to cairo…nothing really special, just a jeans and a shirt. While in the train station booking my tkt I received a phone call from some weird number not expecting my 1st surprise of the day…at the other end of the line was Rony, one of my really really close and great friends who almost studied with me his whole life in school and college, the brother of Nesrin the only Egyptian girl who worked in MasterCard in my same traineeship in the US.

My 2nd surprise of the day was Rony actually going to Cairo same day same time as me! We even met in the train station.

Moving on the day and after just few minutes I received my 3rd surprise of the day. Hassan Saki is actually joining our trip! Saki the Greek god who studied with me 4 years in college and who’s sister also studied with me in the same class for 4 years, who I just knew that she’s working for an airline based in Dubai!!!!

Also we were all together in AIESEC AAST ALEX

As soon as I arrived to cairo, phone calls started to pore down on me like rain…where are we meeting up? When? You are in Cairo? holy shit!!!

At this point and before going on with my surprises, I have to really thank MAI DAOUD for what she did for me that night. Mai calls me up and tell me that she invited people to some coffee shop to meet up and chat and stuff. Along with Rony and Saki I went to pick up Tom and Liisi not expecting my 4th surprise of the day.

I walk in the place and there was Adham from AIESEC AAST and after a little while I just found all my dear and best friends from AIESEC in Egypt, Alumni’s, some of AIESEC in Alexandria people…and oh man, it was the best few hours of my life! I couldn’t believe that all these people came to see me! People telling me how much they missed me. Jokes, memories, laughter! Oh man…I was really really deeply touched. And for the 1st time since 3 years I feel like really coming back to Egypt! To be with all the friends, I felt like between my family members!

It was a very special moment meeting all my friends and the people I spent the best days of my life with, people that I learned from, people that I taught a lot of things. Seeing the people I used to train in MC and LCPs, seeing how motivated they are reminded me with one thing…that AIESEC in Egypt is still one of the best I saw in the last few years and my friends are like my family and they really do care!

Mai…thank you so much!

Estonian girls Vs American girls

This is hilarious
i was surfing the net and came across this!

http://www.kivisaar.com/spam/naised/
PS: blond girls read what it says
boys in general, don't stair too much...and read what it says

to all Estonians around the world, boys and girls...YOU ROCK..ASS

this must be the hauaööõudused truth for american girls!

Good old Alexandria

After a decision that was made in less than 12 hours, I’m currently in good old Alexandria.

Disregarding the fact that I’m here for a family emergency, spending almost my whole day between an IC unit and baby sitting 3 kids, 4 years old spiderman, 9 month old who already thinks I’m his mom and wants me to breast feed him and another 7 years old girl sleeping the whole time! I still managed to hang around in my very little free time at late night.

Yesterday night I had a walk at the beach with a couple of my good friends. It was really really awesome, we talked about so many things, ate grilled corn and drank tea. It was most probably one of the coolest things I did since months.

Tomorrow people from AIESEC in cairo are having a trip to Alexandria as well as some trainees INCLUDING an Estonian (I guess they are haunting me wherever I go) great time expected.

Alexandria is like paradise, good food, friends and perfect weather makes me wanna stay here forever.

Newton's Laws of Motion

"for every action there is a reaction"...of course we all do remember that from the 6th grade science class. I guess the Danish people didn't have that science lesson in school, i believe they had more of arts and crafts lessons where they learned how to drow comic cartoons...BUT the Iranians for sure had the science class!

TEHRAN (AFP) - An international contest of cartoons on the Holocaust opened in Tehran in response to the publication in Western papers last September of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed.

“We staged this fair to explore the limits of freedom Westerners believe in,” Masoud Shojai, head
of the country’s “Iran Cartoon” association and the fair organizer, said.
“They can freely write anything they like about our prophet, but if one raises doubts about the Holocaust he is either fined or sent to prison,” he added.

“Though we do not deny that fact that Jews were killed in the (second world) war, why should the Palestinians pay for it?” Shojai told the opening ceremony of the month-long fair in Tehran’s Palestine Contemporary Art Museum.

He added that around 1,100 cartoons were submitted by participants from more than 60 countries and that more than 200 are on show.

He said the top three cartoons will be announced on September 2, with the winners being awarded prizes of 12,000, 8,000 and 5,000 dollars respectively.
Shojai did not elaborate on the source of the prize money, but emphasized that it did not come from any governmental body.

i guess the danish should have added the science class back then! or at least start thinking of adding it!

Arabs spend $2 billion a year on diamonds

in Dubai Arab nationals spend close to Dh7.3 billion ($2 billion) on diamonds every year, making the Gulf the fourth-largest market in the world, with Dubai taking the lion's share of the business, according to a top industry official.

The diamond jewellery market in the Gulf region has increased by 47% or almost half in the past four years and is now the fourth-largest diamond market in the world, this is acording to the marketing director for Gulf Markets of The Diamond Trading Company (DTC).

Arab nationals are passionate about diamonds and spend close to $2 billion on diamonds in this region. Unique to this region is diamond jewellery sets. They represent 55% value share of all diamond jewellery sales, at an average price of $6,000 (Dh22,000) per diamond jewellery set.
De Beers entered the UAE in 2000 at a time when Dubai was looking to consolidate its position as a regional hub for gold and diamond jewellery.
The emirate later set up Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) to further consolidate its position.

Dubai is rapidly emerging as a major international diamond trading centre, a testament to the vibrant diamond industry in the region as well as Dubai's traditional strategic role as the region's trade gateway to Asia and Europe.

De Beers yesterday reported sales of $3.25 billion in their six-month interim results this week, the second highest on record, despite difficult trading conditions in the rough diamond market.
This was in the context of a reported overall growth in consumer demand for diamond jewellery of three to four per cent on the record levels of 2005.

Expectations remain positive for diamond sales in the second half of the year, with the growth forecast in the region of 5 to 7% for the whole year.

Also, when issues of African trade and aid are in the news, diamonds make a major contribution to countries in Southern Africa, such as Botswana, South Africa or Namibia, enriching those nations and transforming the lives of their citizens

Brutality!

While in Carrefour yesterday enjoying a KFC meal with Holly, I saw the unexpected in such a place. When you say Carrefour what comes to your mind is family, friends gathered, eating in food court, shopping. But would brutality or assault never cross your mind.

Well, these words should cross your mind if you are in Dubai. What I saw yesterday was unexpected. A bunch of guys finish a big meal in Carrefour food court, smoke their cigarettes (yes smoking is allowed everywhere in here even in Carrefour food court) and they just leave, without even cleaning after themselves, which is very normal in Dubai for some people to do, because there are a million Indian little workers who ll clean after them. In the moment they leave, a man comes in and of course since there was no other tables free, he had to take the very dirty one that the cleaning boys did approach yet (all this happened within 30 sec frame).

What I saw next was a man trying to find any worker to clean the tables, and when they didn't come to him while he was waiting for any, he just went grabbed 2 of them and started beating them and telling them "what the fuck is that, was there a party here?"
Yes, he was beating them, yelling and swearing at them. Of course the 1 million little Indian workers were just running around like chicken cleaning the place and Mr macho was standing their kicking them and yelling at whoever he could get his hands or legs on!
While more than 2000 people in this place, no one even dared to talk to him or tell him anything. I went and asked one of the workers "is he the owner of the place?" and of course the shocking answer was "no sir, he is just a local…and I'm just new…it's okay"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, this man was not the owner nor the manager of the place! Just a local who came into the food court and didn't find a free or clean table. So I believed this gave him the right of course to beat the little guys working there and of course they or any other person around dared to talk to him for the same reason.

Well, what to expect form kids who were raised to order their 17 nannies at home to bring them even the glass of water while they are playing with the newest play stations and making big messes…and others are just cleaning after them.

with all do respect to UAE nationals and to all my local friends in Dubai, but this was completly unacceptable!

Animal cruelty!

There have been a lot of letters recently about cruelty to animals. In the April 2006 issue of the Emirates Law Journal, it says that: The UAE Penal Code states that every person who maliciously and intentionally kills any animal, tortures, torments, deprives it of necessary sustenance, drink, food or cruelly beats it shall receive a prison term of up to one year, a fine of dhs10,000 or both. These offences, done to both free roaming and pet animals, can be reported by any member of the public or the owner of the animal to the police who can refer them to the prosecution. The prosecutor will refer the lawsuit to court. Isn’t it time this law was enforced? The prisons and the prosecutors’ coffers would certainly be fuller. Don’t ignore cruelty to animals, try reporting it, it might save some unnecessary suffering.
Sue Giles, Dubai

I totally agree with what Sue wrote regarding the effectiveness of the animal rights law in Dubai, it's almost unexciting. We read everyday about animal cruelty and how animals in Dubai suffer from their human companions and ignorance. As well as dog fights that takes place in secret and hidden societies in the suburbs.

Personally I have been so close to some of these cases, i found my own dog which is a pure breed rottweiler in a box throne in the dumpster along with 7 other puppies. Unfortunately she was the only one alive; In a 40+C weather who could do that to an animal!? To a live soul!!

So way to go Sue, i totally agree that all these bustards should be thrown in cells, Or in dumpsters where they belong too. It's weird how an animal could be more loyal to a human after all what happens to them!

What do you know about Germany?

It is a modern country in central Europe with 82 million people living there. Germany has a strong economy, its GDP is 2.6 trillion… facts you can read anywhere, no need to provide them again.

There are also many (funny?) stereotypes about germans, for example regarding their consumption of beer, the “German Autobahn” and so on - but also funny hard facts. Enjoy:
-70% of german highways have no speed limit.Think about choosing a sportscar when you come here and need a rental?
-It is said that germany´s tax system is so complex that 60% of worldwide literature about taxes are publishes in german language (I do not know if this is maybe an urban myth)
-Germany has about 1250 breweries offering more than 5000 different beer brands
-World famous Eau de Cologne was originally developed as a medicine against the plague (did not help)
-Germany´s most popular tourist attraction, Cologne Cathetral was finished in 1880, after 632 years
-Economic cost for the ongoing reformation of german orthography are an estimated 6 Billion Euros / year (7.2 Billion US$)
-On 29th of Mai 1997, german president Richard von Weizsäcker inaugurated the train station in Kassel, State of Hessen, an architectural masterpiece. It is said that during the ceremony he did not find any toilets and therefore had to fulfil the act of urination using an ordinary wall - at least protected by his bodyguards.
-The perfume brand "Irish Mist" was introduced to the german market. Unfortunately, in german language "Mist" means nothing else but "Bullshit". Because nobody wanted to buy bullshit to spread it over his face, now it is called "Irish Moos" = moss.
-Germany is NOT #1 when it comes to consumption of beer. The average German drinks 145 litres per year - Belgians are leading (150 litres). But the microcosm of stereotypes is still in order: In the german state of Bavaria - where the famous... notorious... Oktoberfest takes place, average per head consumption is 190 litres / year.
-During a visit to Germany in 1963 President John F. Kennedy was greeted with rapturous approval when he said "Ich bin ein Berliner". Later, this caused some amusement for although the translation is "I am a Berliner", a "Berliner" is also a popular name for a type of doughnut.

The Germans do have a sense of humour but it's the sort of humour that doesn't exclude the suggestion that they don't have a sense of humour after all.

the "I finally did it" week end!

Last week end was awesome; I got to FINALLY do things I have been trying to do for the last few weeks/months.

I finally and officially moved out of my ugly shoebox place where I used to live to a nice wide clean awesome villa in Mirdif (with a washing machine that I'm allowed to use whenever I want) . Moving out wasn't that hard, but it took me 3 days to do it from Thursday to Saturday, packing and unpacking, driving back and forth between the tow places. Since I finally have a washing machine, holly and I have been washing all our belongings for the last couple of days. It feels awesome.

I finally did meet up with AIESEC UAE members and the new batch of trainees that came after me, well they are not really new trainees, they have been here for the at least 2 to 3 month each. We had an outing organized by AESEC members which was cool.

Free Image Hosting at <a href=
www.ImageShack.us"
Just next to me is Omour kardesim from Turkey working for Aramex
Melitsa Milosevic from Serbia working for Workz
and Valentina Vlad from Romania (yes more Romanians and yes specking 5 languages) as well working for workz

So yes it was a productive weekend

Now we are preparing for the house worming party along with the bigger event which is taking place on the 22nd, Mr Laja's birthday party.

The good the bad and the artificial

NI realized that lately I have been a very boring bloger, even though so many things are happening in my life and so many things are happening around me. I even didn't blog about the cool people I met here, my new friends, the cool places I have been too!!! If you even ask me "why" the only answer you will get from me will be "I have no idea why!"

I was even thinking to do like superluli did and blog only when something interesting happen, but also, didn't work.

I think I'm going thru a very weird phase, or though times here in Dubai. Of course shit happens all the time and it's so normal, but every person has limits and a specific amount of shit you can take in a very specific amount of time. I think I have been proposed to a very high amount of shit in a very shot period which created a bunch of very sophisticated weird feeling and emotion, plus a non explainable depression.

Briefly lets see the major things that happened in the last couple of month:
1-Coming to Dubai, which in itself combines lots of extremes such as extreme heat, extreme racism but in the same time it is providing me with one of the most professional experiences in my life. It's a very professional place to be in for someone in my age with the same mindset and goals.

2-Meeting new people, again AIESECers or EX trainees or were related to the organization in any how. Realizing that out of every 10 people you can be really good friend for only 1, and maybe this one person wont be there for you when you need him so yes, you are on your own in a place like Dubai!

3-Making new friends, which is surprisingly wasn't a very easy task to do in here. After getting disappointed in some people or forgotten by others, I was able to find a couple of really good friends that I consider talking to them about everything

4-learing that the word INSHALLAH has a totally different meaning to every non Arab in Dubai, which is NO…or the political way of saying no! and not as we Arabs normally use it as inshallah yes

5-Getting a new puppy; which has a very weird and sad story. Going out of my office, finding a box thrown in the dumpster with around 6-7 pure breed rotweiler puppies. It was around 50C that day. Few steps away I found who later became my puppy lying down in the shadow under my car.

6-Having a road trip to Oman with the friends in the wrangler J which was an awesome experience, in around 55C

7-Getting an awesome villa in a perfect compound in Mirdif but can't move there until the assholes INSHALLAH will paint the house and clean it so we can move in!

8-Meeting with 2 people (Egyptians) in 2 different days that I have never seen in my life, both of them looked at me and asked me the exact same questions, during 2 different meetings "you are Ahmed Beshr's son…I served under his command in 1973", it's like his legend is hunting me!

So every single cool thing that happened in the last few month had a very extreme contrary that was leading me to a bunch of weird texture feelings, it is really unpleasant and non enjoyable.
Overall, life in Dubai is nice if you know how and with who to live it, and if you fail to do that, you will be doomed in a very artificial racist life based on business cards and sales meetings with a bunch of people who extremely hate each other and would kill each other if have the chance to…but the smile is still on their faces and the cell phone on their ears "during the meetings"

google and myself!

So many people use Google for everything in their daily life such as business, fun, finding info, some Google their girlfriends/boyfriends, wife/husbands, girls/boys they wanna hook up with...I personally did it so many times for that specific reason! Googling individuals, but I never Googled myself before!

Yesterday I decided to Google my name...and the result was 536!
I decided to go thru them and I actually exact in most of them as myself-HOW COOL IS THAT?- mainly my name was mentioned on AIESECers weblogs, with funny situations or stupid stories with some idiotic things we did somewhere around! but the funniest was in a Korean newspaper in 2004, when they interviewed me in the DMZ. I never knew that they will actually add what i said in the papers and online! Check it out HERE

also one of the things i really loved was on one of the members of AAST Alex LC (my LC) weblog, when he went to his traineeship in Ankara, Turkey he found the Egyptian flag that i left there on the wall still hanging up in the exact same place i left it in and with all what i wrote on, i was really happy to read and see the picture! check it out HERE

I also found some results including my dad, fuckin freaky!

I was really impressed. I think everyone should try it!

the one week trip came to an end!

So i came back from Saudi after almost being held there forever and i wasn't able to blog for quit a while for some reasons.

my last day in Saudi we decided to go for the Omra in Mekkah, and of course i can't describe my feelings or emotions while being there, it's something you have to go thru to understand it! so many people asked me what did you feel when you first saw the Kaaba? i didn't have an answer for them, it's really had to describe your feelings in such moments...or this is what i believe!

after doing the Omra from noon to 3 pm, which means you are out in the open in a 45C weather, with absolutely no shelter or shadow running around, you will definitely get a sun stroke! Exactly what happened to me.

we missed the plane on the Emirates airlines because they over booked the flight and they let only locals or VIPs on the flight, we had to go back to the hotel and stay another day! at that point i was so ready to go back to Dubai.

so many problems happened, 1st one was on the way to the airport, i gave a guy the finger for almost running over me while passing the street, and the guy called the police and it was a seen. Almost 30 min trying to solve it. another problem with our reservation with Emirates airlines and they told us we have to wait a minimum of 3 days before we could go back to Dubai. At that point the tourism studies comes in handy :o)

After some phone calls and meeting with one of the managers of Saudi Airlines i was able to get us into one of the flights going back to Dubai just 1 hour before take off! and guess what, i thought that the Saudi airlines are 10000 times better than the Emirates for so many reasons! they are not just saying we are one of the best i believe they are, they are looking for the customer satisfaction and they are hunting customers, they would do anything to make you happy! It's the only airline that i have been in that have a little mosque inside the plane that is enough for about 6 people to pray in the same time. Also their food is good.

after i got back to Dubai I felt a little ill, but the feeling became stronger and I had to stay home from work for about 3 days with high fever and some hallucinations...now the fever is gone but i got cold and my nose is running! Damn it!

Again, never believe anything…unless you see it with your own eyes!

LIVE from the KINGDOM

Yes, I'm in the Kingdom and still alive.
Yes, my head is still in place.
and yes all my body parts are still there and still attached to my body in their regular normal places!

the flight from Dubai to Jeddah was really nice, the Saudi airlines are more than luxuries even though I was flying Y class. Jeddahs' airport was not that impressive as I imagined, it was all packed of people coming from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines coming to work here or old people doing Omra...MILLIONS in the airport, and it wasn't really organized!

A driver was waiting for us in a very nice car to take us to the Bostan hotel where we r staying for the week. It's a really nice hotel but no women working AT ALL!

for the last 2 days I haven't seen a single woman walking in the street. saudis really shocked me with their welcoming and hospitality. I had a totally different idea about Saudis before meeting the real locals in here, but this idea really changed when I met them.

I have to admit it, it's nothing like what I heard about Saudis or Saudi, real live is so totally different. Of course there are some true facts that I knew before I arrive here, but 80% of what I knew was totally wrong!

Salaam aleikoum for now and I will update you later.

Welcome to the Kingdom!

Since KSA is one of our biggest markets and it's full of our clients, this Saturday I will be flying to Saudi for some business meetings and mostly field training. I was so happy when I got the news that I'm going to the Kingdom specially that I might be able to meet up with my aunt and cousin who I didn't see for almost 2.5 years.

I didn't know what do we need to do exactly regarding the paper work, passport, visa and all this regular shit before going somewhere; of course I knew that the company will be taking care of all that, but still I had to put in mind that this is Dubai and everything here is different than the whole world so I kept my expectations very low.

I asked my college who is taking care of the visas for all employees going anywhere with the company and he was like:"The company is finalizing all visa, paper work and everything for you. All we need from you some signatures and that's it, you are on the jet plane to the Kingdom". I was like yeah, awesome! So now I know it works in our company like the rest of the world!

I didn't keep my expectations low as I was supposed to, I didn't think what kind of papers do I need to sign before going on the jet plane.

After signing about 4 papers before submitting my passport, there was one last paper I need to sign before having the visa stamped...And guess what that is!?

it's my death certificate! It's my signature and agreement on my own death!!!

the paper said "if you enter Drugs to the Kingdom for personal or public usage you will be beheaded" this is just to worm up! Later on came something like this "if I commit any crime in KSA i will be punished acording to the kingdom laws. Get arrested for any sexual harassment or prostitution as well as drinking alcohol, I will be punished according the Saudi law which may lead to my death" this includes getting whipped, and of course I have options in this or getting stoned to death...of course my dear friends here will think, stoned as hash stoned, no my friend not this kind of stoned!

Tell you what, I was gone pee in my pants when I was reading this!

WELCOME THE KINGDOM, AND ENJOY YOUR STAY!

KEFAYA BA2A, ENOUGH!!!

I'm sorry for the Arabic entry guys, but couldn't find the English translation for this news on Al Jazeera website!

the charges against him are, covering the news in Dahab and causing horror in the egyptian public opinion.
the dude just reflected what was going on there! Fuckers!
until when the government wants to lie? Until more Egyptians die?!

Have a good morning, have a blast!

What the FUCK is going on? Not again!

I remember when I was in St Louis and holly called me to tell me about the Sharm attacks, it was the exact same feeling I got today when she passe
